Midland Public Library, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and other members of the North Simcoe Drug Strategy group invite the community to remember those we’ve lost, reflect on the ongoing drug toxicity crisis, and strengthen our collective call for justice, compassion, and change.

This event will feature: A peer-led, interactive memorial project Harm reduction info and naloxone Light refreshments and community connection All are welcome. Whether you come to grieve, connect, or learn, this space is for you.
In 2024 we lost 113 community members and friends to opioid-related death. The 2022 and 2023 rates of opioid-related deaths in Simcoe Muskoka are lower than 2021 but remain substantially higher than the average rate from 2017 to 2019. The rate in Simcoe Muskoka has been significantly higher than the provincial average since 2017.
